Digital Twin for Network Security & Traffic Simulation

Academic project — Boston University

Built a digital twin of an enterprise network to model TCP/IP traffic, routing behavior, and infrastructure performance under multiple load scenarios. Diagnosed and resolved simulated production-style issues in an isolated lab.

  • Analyzed performance data to evaluate system reliability and identify bottlenecks at scale, applying systematic debugging methodology. Strengthened understanding of network architecture, capacity planning, and infrastructure monitoring.
  • Produced a repeatable testing methodology and technical documentation for future use. Demonstrated ability to learn new infrastructure concepts quickly and apply them to live, complex systems.
  • Lab included a pfSense firewall, segmented internal/DMZ/management networks, a DVWA target, and a Splunk + Zeek SIEM node for traffic analysis.
